Asclepias exaltata (Poke Milkweed) is often found in upland woods and woodland openings.
It thrives in dappled or indirect sunlight. Clusters of flowers droop elegantly on slender stalks. The foliage and flowers provide a source of food for many insects including monarchs, moths, and native pollinators.
Though long lived, this species is not invasive or aggressive.
Native plant seeds in general do not have very high germination rates. Plant a few seeds per 1 plant desired
