Cinnamon Basil - Honey Almond Biscotti

Farm to Table Recipe from the Garden. 
Cinnamon Basil is a great baking herb. Use in any recipe looking for that Unique Flavor.  Pairs Wonderful with Lavender Tea
  • 2 Sticks Butter, softened
  • 1/2 c Honey
  • 1/4 c Brown Sugar
  • 5 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla or Almond Extract
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp chopped Cinnamon Basil
  • 1/2 c Crushed or Slivered Almonds

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Makes 2-3 dozen

Mix the dry ingredients together in 1 bowl.  Mix the wet ingredients in a separate bowl.   Then mix together the wet and dry, kneading the dough by hand until fully incorporated.  Divide the dough into 2 equal parts and form into logs.  Place each log onto lightly greased cookie sheet.  Bake for 30 minutes.  Remove from oven and slice the log into 1" pieces.  Return them to oven at 400 degrees for 5-10 more minutes until slightly brown.  Enjoy!
